深圳毗邻香港，又是中国改革开放最早发展的城市之一，上世纪八、九十年代，大量港资模具企业的北迁为深圳模具业奠定了基础，并形成了良好的配套条件，吸引了理光、飞利蒲、艾默生等世界500强企业落户深圳，同时也使原先为这些企业配套的境外企业在深圳设点办厂，从而形成了电子、通讯、家电等产品的完整产业链。经过20多年的发展，深圳已是我国一流的经济发达城市，2003年实现工业总产值610亿美元(人民币：5073.77亿元)。
模具就是这样推动深圳经济的发展，同时也自身也不断壮大，经过十几年的快速发展，深圳模具业在全国有着举足轻重的地位，模具工业的规模与水平都堪称全国之首。据统计，目前深圳共有1000多家商品模具企业，年产值超过100亿元，约占广东省模具总产值的近45%；占全国模具总产值的近20%，从业人员约10万余人，其中工程技术人员比例超过30%。涌现出了像鸿准、柏狮、东江、精英、友联明辉等一批国际知名的年产值过亿元的模具制造企业。其中富士康集团的鸿准模具公司2003年的模具产值超过6亿人民币，是全国最大的模具企业；柏狮模具公司生产IC引线框架模具引线宽度仅0.15mm达国际先进水平。
为加速深圳经济的发展，深圳市政府对深圳的工业结构进行了调整，并于2004年8月正式成立了“深圳市模具产业集聚基地”，它为深圳模具工业的发展提供了广阔的天地，我们希望国内外先进的模具企业前来安家落户。
Neighboring with Hong Kong, Shenzhen is one of the earliest cities in China
that implemented reform and opening to the outside world for development. The
transfer of manufacturing industry form Hong Kong and Taiwan in 1980s and 1990s
has established solid foundation for the rapid development of mould industry in
Shenzhen and has constituted very good complementary conditions. Many
world-famous enterprises such as Ricoh, Philip, and Emerson etc have been
attracted to Shenzhen, and their suppliers also moved here to establish branch
or plant. Thus, they compose a completed industrial chain with electronics,
communication product and home appliance etc. After 20 year development,
Shenzhen has become one of the most developed cities in China. In 2003, the
gross industrial output value of Shenzhen reached RMB507.773 billion (equal
USD61 billion).
Through more than 10 years of rapid growth, the mould industry in Shenzhen is
now holding the balance in whole China. At present, the mould industry in
Shenzhen is listed as top in China in the aspect of both size and level.
According to the statistics, at present, there are more than 10,000 enterprises
specialized in the line of mould industry in Shenzhen; their annual output value
has been over 10 billion Yuan, participating 45% of total Guandong output value
of mould industry, and 20% whole country. The jobholder in this line has been
over 100,000, thereof the engineer and technician has been over 30%.
Many enterprises like Foxcon, Possehl, T.K., Jinying and Youlianminghui have
earned fame in the world and have had more than 100 million Yuan output value.
Espeail Foxcon Group whose output value in 2003 was over 600 million Yuan has
become the biggest mould enterprise in China. And Possehl company who
manufactures IC lead frame mould reaches the world advanced level by his only
0.15mm lead width for the mould.
In order to accelerate the development of Shenzhen economy, Shenzhen
municipality has adjusted the industrial structure of Shenzhen, and has
established “the gathering base of mould industry in Shenzhen” since August,
2004 which has offered a wide space for the development of Shenzhen mould
industry. We sincerely welcome the advanced mould enterprise in home and abroad
to “the gathering base of mould industry in Shenzhen”.
